Okayama Gakugeikan High School has been selected as a Super Global High School!

Since 2016, Okayama Gakugeikan High School has been one of 123 Super Global High Schools that were selected under the Super Global High School Program (hereafter referred to as SGH) launched by the Japanese Ministry of Education. The year prior, we were classed as an “Associates” member of the SGH program.
Under this program, we have been providing SGH classes that aim to foster our students to be real global leaders through deep understanding of social issues. This includes teaching skills through real-world contexts which that allow students to obtain global communication and problem solving skills.

Five Competencies –Think what we can do, and take action!

We need global leaders who have skills to rectify and solve problems in this ever globalized society. Okayama Gakugeikan High School set its Global Research Theme as “Feasible contributions to solving the cycle of poverty in developing countries” and has been developing curriculums with this in mind. In our SGH classes, the following five competencies are defined as skills global leaders should have: Global Mind, Problem Solving Ability, Communication Skills in Negotiation, collaborative skills and Practical Skills.
